Same product, same setup, same support

A volunteer department gets exactly what a career one gets. Size changes the price — nothing else.

Every department starts here

$495 one-time setup

We import your data, set up your dispatch format, and get your officers running it. Same work and same price for everyone, and it is one-time — separate from the yearly subscription.

No tier gets better treatment

The department with the smallest budget usually has the least help available and needs the most. Charging them less should not mean handing them less.

The same setup

We import your data, set up your dispatch format, and get your officers running it on a call — whether you have 20 members or 200.

The same support

The same phone number and the same person answering it. A volunteer department does not get a lesser queue.

The same product

Every feature on every plan. Size changes the price, never what the app can do on a call.

How departments actually buy this

No credit card, no app-store subscription for someone to expense. You buy it the way you buy everything else.

Annual invoice, Net 30
One invoice a year, not twelve card charges. Pay by check or ACH — no credit card required, ever.
Purchase orders welcome
Send your PO number and we'll reference it on the invoice. W-9 on request, and we'll fill in your vendor registration paperwork.
Quotes valid 90 days
Long enough to survive a budget cycle and a town meeting. Ask and we'll date it to suit your calendar.
We'll match your fiscal year
Most departments run July 1 to June 30. We prorate the first term so your renewal lands with the rest of your budget instead of halfway through it.

Questions departments actually ask

What is the setup fee for?

$495, once, the same for every department. It covers importing your existing data — spreadsheets, county GIS exports, or a stack of paper — setting up your dispatch center's email format, and a session to get your officers running it. Direct integration with your dispatch software, if you want it, is scoped and priced on its own. Setup is the part that takes real hours, so it is priced separately and the yearly figure stays low. Your members don't need a class: they get a notification and tap it.

We're applying for a grant — can you help?

We can't tell you whether a given grant covers software: eligibility rules differ by program and change from year to year, so check with your grant officer before you count on it. What we can do is make the application easy. Tell us you're applying and we'll send a formatted quote, a product description and specifications you can attach — in whatever format your program wants.

Which features are gated behind the higher plans?

None. Every department gets every feature, the same onboarding and the same support. The plans differ only by how many members you have. Charging a volunteer department less for the same software is a pricing decision, not a product one.

Will it work with our dispatch center?

If your center sends dispatch alerts by email, almost certainly. Each center's email format is configuration rather than code, and we set yours up during onboarding. Forward us one of your dispatch emails and we'll confirm before you pay anything. A direct connection to your dispatch software, which brings live updates as a call changes, is a bigger project we scope with your center.

What hardware do radio and station displays need?

Each one runs on a small MapBook box at your station. The radio receiver connects to a radio or scanner tuned to your channels: it streams the audio, records it if you turn recording on, and listens for your tones. A display box sits behind each wall screen and runs the station display; it is built for modern 1080p or better TVs, and older HDMI monitors may not work with it. We supply both preloaded and configured for your department, priced at the hardware cost plus a modest charge for that setup, so nobody at the station has to build or program anything. Everything else in MapBook runs on the phones and computers you already have.

Where does our data live, and can we get it out?

On infrastructure we run and maintain, with your department isolated from every other one at the database level and an audit trail of who accessed what. You can export everything — hydrants, occupancies, access boxes — as CSV or GeoJSON whenever you want, not just on the way out. MapBook is not self-hosted: the mobile apps and dispatch alerting depend on infrastructure we operate, and a self-run copy would lose both.

Is recorded radio a public record?

It may be, depending on your state and your department's retention rules — which is exactly why radio recording is off until an administrator deliberately turns it on, per channel, with a retention limit you set. Upgrading MapBook never starts retaining audio on its own. Talk to your municipal attorney before enabling it.

What if we grow past our plan's member count?

Move up at your renewal and we'll prorate the difference. Nobody gets locked out mid-call because you added three probies.
